Congratulations Team Bellagio

Team Bellagio was named the #1 fundraising team following a triathalon event for the benefit of the Challenged Atheletes Foundation held recently right here in the Las Vegas Valley. The team raised $20,750 for the Foundation that supports injured veterans of the Afghanistan/Iraq wars attempting to get their lives back to normal.

The three-man triathalon team pictured here from left to right: Mike Longi, John Clinton (my son), and Mike Black.
Way to go guys.

Kelly Clinton at Starbright Theater

VIVA
Las Vegas

Kelly Clinton Show

Kelly Clinton's show at the Starbright Theater on Nov. 15 in Las Vegas was just wonderful. The Las Vegas artist is an outstanding performer. Kelly sings, she dances, she makes jokes, she mimics, she creates characters and all that talent adds up to one terrific show. Here are a few shots her mother (that's me) took during the performance.

Only in Vegas: Iconic Costumes

Bling!Exhibit of Iconic Showgirl Artifacts

I had a great time on Nov.13 at the Las Vegas Design Center's Passport to Glamour event where I was lucky to catch Bling! An Exhibit of Iconic Showgirl Artifacts. Special guest curator of Bling, Warwick Stone, was on hand and the exhibit was co-sponsored by CRYSTALLIZED - Swarovski Elements. The exhibit was spectaculor and included the actual Ostrich feather fans used by the famed dancer Sally Rand. The glamorous white feather costume is modeled by a beautiful Las Vegas Showgirl.
I received permission to photograph the exhibit displays and am sharing a few of my shots with you.

Vintage Everything at Vegas Mall

Love vintage fashions, furnishings and collectibles? Surprise, surprise, Las Vegas is a great place to do your hunting. There a number of large antique malls not far from the Strip. My favorite is Charleston Antique Mall, a huge place housed in an historical building that was originally the home of a 7 UP bottling plant back in the 1950's/60's.
There are about 40 dealers, the friendliest in town, offering every kind of vintage wares at very competive prices.
I'll chat more about the terrific deals on finds of all kinds in future blogs.
For now, Charleston Antique Mall is located near downtown in what we call the Art District in old Vegas.
From the Strip, you head west on Charleston Blvd, get in the left lane and take a left at Martin Luther King (I-15 underpass) take very next left at Wall St. (underpass) and left again onto Western. Follow Western around the bend to the front entrance on Charleston.
